Shadowing students learn to assess, collect, and record normal values for vital signs.

Shadowing

This course is scheduled for sixth hour, the last hour of the day.  This semester focuses on shadowing of medical professionals.  Students will go through volunteer training at local hospitals in order to participate.  Students should be aware that shadowing does extend beyond school hours.  Students must provide up to date immunization records, a TB test, and hospital paperwork.

*All paperwork due in the second week of the semester

 

Medical Occupations 1

Non-shadowing

This course is typically scheduled either first or fifth hours.  The majority of this semester is dedicated to medical terminology.  Students will also receive dual credit and a grade at Lewis and Clark Community College for Medical Terminology (HLTH 120).  The text used is the Language of Medicine by Chabner.

THIS IS A FULL YEAR COURSE.
